What People's Say About Place

I saw this place on an IG post, and my & wife decided to check them out. The food was great. My wife had the Catfish & Shrimp dinner and I had the Whiting Sandwich. Both were delicious. The food was served hot and the portions were enormous. The fish was seasoned well and cooked the way I like it. They cook to order, so you have to wait a bit, but it is worth it.

So I finally tried rahim’s today and got the catfish & wings. The fries & catfish was crispy and had flavor. The wings had good flavor but could have been a little more crispy for my liking. Overall the customer service was a and the prices where good to. Check them out if you haven’t.

We drove all the way from Kentucky. This was our first stop. Had dinner at 4:40 and the food had a seafood platter, fish shrimp, oysters, fries, coleslaw, and it was delicious.

The best seafood in Atlanta. This place food is authentic, everything is made from scratch. Customer Service is superb!

Food, service, and atmosphere was immaculate!!! The two young men that was working did their absolute best to maintain efficiency. I'll definitely be back!

If you’re truly from Atlanta — especially the Westside — Rahim’s Seafood needs no introduction. This place has been feeding the city since 1972, starting on MLK for 30 years and now holding it down on Campbellton Road for the last 18 years. That kind of longevity doesn’t happen by accident. Rahim’s was the first Black-owned seafood restaurant in Atlanta to serve fresh fish, and you can tell the legacy is still alive and well. The founder may be gone, but his daughter now runs the restaurant, and the quality, flavor, and heart are still there. Let’s talk food. The Rahim wings with the special sauce are a MUST — battered, crispy, and full of flavor. These are real old-school wings, not trendy, just done right. The whiting sandwich is huge and perfectly fried. The fried okra is crispy with zero slime. And the fried fish and shrimp platter? Fresh, hot, seasoned well, and the portion is generous. The real star for me was the homemade tartar sauce — creamy, tangy, and perfect on both the shrimp and fish. You can tell it’s made in-house and not poured out of a bottle. Rahim’s isn’t flashy or trying to be something it’s not. It’s consistent, historic, and rooted in the community. This is the kind of place generations grew up on — and that matters. If you’re visiting Atlanta and want real food with real history, or if you’re local and somehow haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. Rahim’s Seafood is a Westside staple and a true piece of Atlanta history.

Rahim’s Seafood felt less like a quick food stop and more like an experience I genuinely enjoyed from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was met with warmth and care, and that tone was set immediately by the owner’s daughter, Barisa. She was phenomenal. Patient, attentive, and genuinely kind, she guided me through the ordering process with ease, answering questions and making recommendations in a way that made me feel valued, not rushed. That level of service is rare, and it made a strong first impression before I even tasted the food. When the food came out, it more than lived up to that first impression. Everything was fresh, hot, and clearly prepared with intention. The wings were bursting with flavor, seasoned so well that sauce was completely unnecessary. Each bite stood on its own, bold and satisfying. The shrimp were beautifully fried, perfectly crisp on the outside while staying tender and juicy inside, cooked just the way they should be. But the real standout for me was the catfish sandwich. It was super juicy, generously packed, and incredibly filling. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and comforting, the kind of sandwich that reminds you why catfish, when done right, is hard to beat. Honestly, if I had ordered just that sandwich, it would have been more than enough to leave me satisfied. If I had one regret, it’s that I didn’t order more. That’s the kind of complaint you want to have after a meal. Rahim’s Seafood delivers on all fronts: exceptional service, fresh and flavorful food, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back. Between the quality of the food and Barisa’s outstanding hospitality, this is a place I’ll gladly return to and recommend without hesitation.
